Something to remember this holiday season: amidst all the buying and selling, we can be mindful of what is necessary and of what truly is a "gift."
We often say "stocking stuffers" as if we must have so many gifts that we not only have those under the tree, but those that are stuffed to overflowing in our stockings. In the past, the gifts in the stockings were the only gifts that were given. It seems sad to me that that idea would now be ludicrous to the average Western family.
This holiday season, why not give less tangibly and celebrate more lovingly? The gift of your company is all I really need.

I think you are so right about "giving". The giving of yourself is most important, whether it be of your talents or your time.
